How It Works

For fiber internet, a fiber cable is connected to your house via a fiber unit mounted on the side of your house by other utilities. The cable runs from the fiber unit and connects to a power adaptor and wireless router in your house.

What to Expect

For broadband customers, here's what to expect:

• ix2Fiber verifies that your address is within our coverage area.
• ix2Fiber reaches out to discuss the specifics and schedule your installation.
• Prior to your installation date, ix2Fiber will contact diggers hotline to have your underground utilities marked.
• The fiber line will be buried within a week following the utility marking being complete, weather permitting. A grey or white box will be mounted on the side of your house, typically where other utilities are located. This box serves as the outside connection point to your new fiber optic service.
• On the day of the installation, technicians will arrive in your 2 hour window to install the modem inside your house. A line will be run from the box outside to your wireless router located inside. If you already have a wireless router you would like to use, please let us know when you make the initial appointment.

Upgrade Options

Wireless Router: A WiFi 6 wireless router is included for free with your installation. These units are built to serve an averaged side house. Large houses, houses with lots of walls, houses that have had additions added may require additional coverage (see mesh extenders below).

Mesh Extenders: You can add mesh extenders to our managed WiFi service to cover any dead or hard to reach spaces in your home. Our mesh extenders have the same features as our managed WiFi service for easy support when you need help. You can purchase each extender for a onetime fee of $95 or rent each unit. Installation included.

Landline Phone: Customer may also add-on residential VoIP phone services for $10/month. Our VoIP phone service features unlimited local and long-distance calling with standard calling features (i.e. call forwarding, call blocking, and caller ID). Business Phone starts at $40/m.
